Overview
At Houston Methodist, the Application Analyst provides intermediate level support and configuration of assigned applications. This role assists, trains and supports customers with the operation and administration of systems, troubleshoots issues, collaborates with vendors on resolution, and partners with customers to enhance operational efficiencies. The analyst applies intermediate technical expertise to support healthcare applications and may cross-train to proficiency across multiple applications, aligning with Houston Methodist values to deliver high-quality IT services.
Responsibilities- Provide intermediate level support and configuration for assigned applications.
- Assist, train and support customers in the operation and administration of systems.
- Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with vendors on issue resolution.
- Document processes and assist other IT groups and teams as needed.
- Contribute to the achievement of department and organizational goals through reliable service delivery.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience (licensed clinical or certified IT professional or additional four years’ experience in lieu of degree). - Experience:
At least 3 years in IT or clinical/business workflow; experience supporting clinical, ancillary or business environments. - Licenses and
Certifications:
Required; certification within six months of hire for the assigned application (e.g., Epic). Epic Certification must be maintained within six months. - Knowledge and Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively in English; strong customer service orientation; understanding of clinical or business processes; ability to support large-scale clinical and ancillary systems; familiarity with databases and operating systems; technical skills to support multiple applications; intermediate competency across applications or clinical workflows; demonstrated project management and problem-solving abilities.
- Prepare written business correspondence that is coherent, grammatically correct, effective and professional.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients; share knowledge through documentation and training.
- Assist, train and support customers with the operation and administration of systems.
- Debug, program and test systems and applications; propose solutions considering timeliness, effectiveness and practicality.
- Utilize knowledge of assigned applications to complete tasks; apply workflow to clinical and business applications.
- Lead and facilitate meetings; develop objectives, agendas and action items.
- Support and install software applications, including on-call support.
- Provide high-quality technical support; create custom solutions or configuration options for workflow issues.
- Lead medium to large scale projects following project guidelines and budget adherence.
- Work Attire:
Business professional required; uniform and scrubs not required. - On-Call:
On-call may be required during emergencies. - Travel:
May require travel within or outside the Houston Metropolitan area.
