The Director of Payroll Services leads strategic payroll operations, driving process improvements, automation, and compliance across payroll and accounting functions. This role manages complex projects, ensures accurate financial reporting, and champions the effective use of systems like People Soft and UKG Pro WFM. By fostering a customer‑focused culture, mentoring staff, and aligning payroll practices with GAAP and organizational policies, the position ensures operational excellence and financial integrity.
Minimum QualificationsDegrees:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area required
- Master's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related area preferred
Certifications:
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification required
- Ten (10) years in high volume payroll area required, preferably in the healthcare industry; and experience with electronic time and attendance scheduling system(s) required (UKG Pro WFM and People Soft mastery required)
Experience:
- Seven (7) years of management/supervisory experience required in a high‑volume processing area
Skills:
- Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking)
- Writing /Correspondence
- Writing /Reports
- Analytical:
Strong analytics are required for troubleshooting and forecasting costs - Mathematics:
Strong mathematical skills required for FLSA and other complex calculations - Research:
Strong - Statistical: A strong plus
