Job Summary
Greets and assists patients upon arrival, completes pre‑registration, onsite registration, and check‑in for all appointments, and facilitates all necessary workflows for both scheduled and unscheduled patients.
Performs extensive clerical duties including answering phones, scheduling patients, reviewing insurance information, verifying health plan benefit coverage and eligibility, and calling patients to confirm appointments.

- Completes pre‑registration, onsite registration, and check‑in for all appointments.
- Facilitates all necessary workflows for scheduled and unscheduled patients.
- Answers phone inquiries and schedules appointments.
- Reviews insurance information and verifies benefit coverage.
- Confirms appointments with patients via phone call.
- Maintains accurate patient records and documentation.
- Prepares and processes registration and registration forms.
- High School Graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience in an office setting or patient registration (preferred).
- Knowledge of insurance and medical terminology (preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and ability to multi‑task.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate in additional languages.
- Strong keyboarding skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks by level of importance.
- Experience with medical office software or electronic medical record systems (preferred).
- Primarily sedentary; sitting for prolonged periods with occasional standing and walking.
- Mobility to travel between departments and floors, including use of stairs and elevators.
- Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 25 lbs, and frequent handling of light items up to 10 lbs.
- Occasional pushing and pulling of carts, file cabinets, or supply trolleys (force up to 25–30 lbs).
- Frequent fine motor skills for typing, data entry, filing, and supply handling.
- Frequent repetitive hand, wrist, and finger movements for typing and office tasks.
- Visual acuity sufficient for reading computer screens, printed records, labels, and small‑print forms.
- Hearing and speech sufficient to understand and communicate with patients, families, and staff.
- Ability to work in a typical hospital office environment with variable noise, foot traffic, and occasional exposure to clinical areas, cleaning chemicals, or latex.
- Ability to concentrate, multitask, prioritize, follow procedures, and maintain accuracy under interruptions.
- Work schedule flexibility including occasional overtime, early/late hours, weekends, or on‑call duties if required.
