Job Description

Title:

Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Schedule:

7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Assignment Details:
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Guaranteed

Hours:

36 hours per week

Requirements:
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
- Postpartum and nursery experience
- Current ACLS certification (AHA)
- Current BLS certification (AHA)
- Current NRP certification
- Active OH or compact nursing license at time of submission
- BSN degree (preferred)

Roles & Responsibilities :
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments on patients and conduct reassessments in accordance with facility policies.
- Assess and reassess patient pain using appropriate evaluation methods and implement effective pain management techniques while educating patients and families on pain relief options.
- Develop, revise, and daily evaluate individualized care plans based on patient responses to treatment.
- Provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of developmental principles across the lifespan.
- Administer medications accurately following the five medication rights and demonstrate knowledge of their appropriate use based on age and clinical condition.
- Formulate teaching plans based on assessed learning needs, involving patients and families in the education process.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address patient needs and enhance care delivery.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with team members, patients, and families while ensuring a safe and respectful environment.

Compliance / Notes:
- Annual competencies and competencies for bedside blood glucose waived testing must be maintained.
