Position Overview
The Nursing Shift Supervisor coordinates nursing staff, resolves professional, administrative, and supervisory issues, and applies nursing knowledge to solve problems within established policies. The role assists the Department Director in data collection, analysis, and performance improvement projects. It develops and coordinates educational plans for initial and ongoing competency validation, facilitates orientation and staff development, and fosters team building and leadership across nursing areas.
The supervisor works closely with hospital administration and medical staff, serving as an educational consultant for policy, procedure, and program development. The role holds supervisory responsibility for registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, techs, receptionists, and related nursing personnel.

- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing;
BSN degree preferred - Current State Nursing Licensure in the state of Ohio
- Current ACLS certification required within 1 year of hire
- Current NRP certification required within 1 year of hire
- Current PALS certification required within 1 year of hire
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum of three years experience in nursing
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Additional languages preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer knowledge
- Ability to operate office equipment
