Hastings County has a current vacancy for a Temporary Full-Time Rent Calculation Clerk in our Community and Human Services Department. This position is responsible to determine eligibility, calculate rental amounts and maintain appropriate client records.

Successful candidates are expected to embrace and abide by the Hastings County Community and Human Services operating principles and customer service centered philosophies.

DUTIES
:

• Preparing and maintaining tenant files, and updating computerized tenant data system.
• Verify/testing tenant income levels.
• Ensuring income verification statements and rental subsidy calculations are accurate.
• Preparing leases, notices, letters and other written correspondence relevant to rent changes, eligibility updates and related queries.
• Providing customer service to applicants and tenants both on the telephone and within the office environment.
• Providing support to front counter reception by responding to inquiries.
• Other duties as may be required from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS
:

• Post-Secondary School Diploma in Business Administration, Office Procedures, Social Services, Accounting or equivalent.
• Prior experience in calculating rent-geared-to-income housing.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Yardi Software, Excel, and income testing procedures are an asset.
• Ability to deal with applicants and tenants with tact and diplomacy.
• Knowledge of internal policies and procedures and relevant Provincial legislation as related to ongoing client eligibility.

HOURS OF WORK: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 4:30pm

WAGE RANGE: $52,234.98 - $57,392.30 per annum
