Preferred Qualifications Role PurposeThe physician will provide professional medical services within the practicing Specialty to the best of physicians ability through direct patient care and spend additional time as necessary to perform other related duties such as completing medical records, providing MyChart consultations and in‑basket management, conducting patient‑specific education and collaborating with advanced practice providers and care team members.
Responsibilities- Manage the medical care of patient panel by providing or arranging for inpatient hospital care of physicians’ patients, either through regular hospital rounds or by collaborating with hospitalist(s) or other qualified physicians.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and care team members to ensure excellent patient care outcomes at the clinic location(s) and any BJC clinical outreach location as assigned.
- Perform and document medical histories and physicals in the patients’ medical record as required by hospital medical staff bylaws.
- Provide or arrange for call coverage for clinic patients and inpatient call coverage acceptable to BJC and in accordance with Medical Staff bylaws, while observing BJC policies and procedures and applicable standards.
- Collaborate and teach advanced practice providers, support staff, or any care team member assigned in the care of physicians’ patient panel.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner as a safety-sensitive position.
