ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors for English as a Second Language in the Adult Education department. Part-time instructors are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Part-time/adjunct faculty in English as a Second Language are responsible for teaching the objectives of each course assigned, the assessment of student learning, and reporting of student progress as required by the college.
QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Education or English
* Master's degree in TESOL highly preferred.
* ESL Teaching experience in an adult learning context highly preferred.
* Knowledge of second language acquisition process required
* Demonstrated willingness and ability to integrate appropriate technology into teaching strategies.
* Experience teaching in a multicultural environment preferred.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
Salary varies based on educational level and number of courses taught.

WORK LOCATION
English as a Second Language courses are offered at SWIC Belleville and Sam Wolf Granite City Campuses, and other off-site locations.
