Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time instructors for the Community Education department. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as part-time teaching assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, the part-time non-union Community Education Instructor is responsible for teaching the objectives for non-credit courses to the community to encourage community development and engagement through lifelong learning opportunities. The Community Education Instructor's courses are based on the instructor's area of expertise catering to the needs and interests of the community.
Community Education courses run Monday through Friday generally between the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The course hours are contingent on each site's academic calendar and schedule with the Instructor working no more than 9 hours per week.

Painting, Drawing, Basket Weaving, Quilting, Embroidering, etc.
* Culinary:
Baking, Cooking, Cake Decorating, etc.
* Computers and Technology:
Excel, Google Workplace, Microsoft SharePoint, etc.
* Heath and Wellness:
First Aid and CPR training, Yoga, Zumba, Brain Health, etc.
* Home and Garden
* Industry/Professional Certifications
* Music:
Piano, Guitar, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Subject matter expertise required.
3. Formal training and credentials in subject matter preferred.
4. Teaching experience preferred.
5. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
$23.10 per hour. Pay is determined by the number of classes taught and class enrollment.
