Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for part-time non-union LACE (Learning Assistance Center for Excellence) assistants for the Sign Language Studies (SLS) program. LACE assistants are hired on an as-needed basis. Your application will be placed in a pool for review as LACE assistant assignments become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
LACE Assistants in the SLS program are responsible for tutoring and assisting students in developing competency and fluency in entry and intermediate level skills required of a SLS Interpreter graduate. They support the assessment of student learning and report student progress to program coordinator and/or faculty.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Demonstrate fluency in ASL, required.
2. Teaching ASL experience, preferred.
3. Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills individually and in groups.
4. Knowledge in use of Mac computers and equipment in classroom.
STARTING PAY AND HOURS
$20.37 per hour, up to 9 hours/week
