Middle School – High School AEC Teacher

Position Description

The teacher is responsible for providing structured academic and behavioral support to students in an alternative education setting. This role focuses on individualized planning, relationship-building, and collaboration with families, school staff, and outside agencies to ensure students receive the services needed for success. The ideal candidate is student-centered, flexible, and skilled in implementing strategies that promote positive behavior, academic growth, and personal responsibility.

Salary range: $42,000–$63,654, based on experience.

• Plans a program of study that positively impacts student behavior and addresses academic needs.
• Assists in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of a Student Service Plan for each student.
• Plans instruction that motivates students, with emphasis on their needs, interests, and abilities.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and tools consistent with the needs and abilities of the students.
• Encourages students to take responsibility for their actions.
• Maintains accurate, complete, and timely records as required by the Principal.
• Makes provisions to be available to students and parents/guardians beyond the school day when needed.
• Coordinates efforts related to the Student Service Plan with social service agencies and the court system.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal.
