Overview
Abacus Technology is seeking a Voice Network Engineer to provide infrastructure support of communications networks for an enterprise program at Scott AFB. This is a full‑time position.
Responsibilities- Provide tier 3 engineering and support for voice and communications networks.
- Configure, develop, patch, STIG, enhance, and add features to Cisco VoIP systems, including Call Manager, Cisco Unity, Ribbon VX900 devices, instant messaging, presence, and teleconference bridges.
- Develop configurations and methods for Cisco Unified Border Elements, Session Border Controllers, and other network devices that use Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) to connect the system to external voice systems.
- Develop configurations for SIP connections between the VoIP network and other customer networks, including Asterik networks, Call Manager Express, SRST, and other Cisco VoIP networks.
5+ years experience in a VoIP or telecommunications engineering role;
Bachelor’s degree in a related field;
Must be CCNP Collaborations certified;
Hands‑on experience with physical network infrastructure (switches, routers);
Extensive experience with Cisco tools and technologies, including Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) and Unity;
Experience with network implementation and maintenance;
Ability to demonstrate flexibility in adjusting to variable workload and job duties;
Ability to interact professionally with all levels of an organization;
Must be a U.S. citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance.
