Job Description

Join our dynamic team at Michael Shannon Consulting, where we are dedicated to supporting USTRANSCOM's mission of enhancing financial and audit readiness through innovative business solutions. As a Business and Financial Operations Specialist (JR), you will work on the client site at Scott AFB/southern IL. You will be instrumental in assisting our senior team members in executing functions crucial for improving business processes, addressing financial management system deficiencies, and strengthening internal controls.

What you will do You will play a key role in supporting audit responses, financial reporting, and operational efficiency improvements. Through your contributions, we aim to achieve enhanced performance in audit responses and better management of obligations and resources. Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation of accurate and reliable financial statements and supporting documentation. Support audit engagement activities, including coordination with stakeholders and development of corrective action plans. Participate in the improvement of internal control processes and policies. Contribute to information technology support efforts, including data management and analysis. Aid in the documentation and reporting of financial and operational activities. Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant standards.

Requirements: U.S. Citizen, eligibility for Department of Defense clearance; (Active Interim / Completed Secret Clearance or higher preferred) Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. Up to 3 years of experience in financial operations, business processes, or audit support. Familiarity with financial reporting and internal control frameworks preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with financial management systems. Benefits:
