Role Purpose

Coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchasing, and statistical accumulation.

Responsibilities
  • Manages individuals, including hires, training, work assignments, performance evaluations, and professional development plans. Ensures productivity and actions meet or support the operational goals of the department as established by leadership.
  • Participates in the development of departmental staffing, revenue, and/or expense budgets, and holds direct responsibility for adhering to those goals, responding to business changes that may affect budget attainment.
  • Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions tailored to patients’ age and developmental needs, achieving optimal wellness and documenting per policy.
  • Creates and implements collaborative care plans based on assessment, diagnosis, and medical treatment.
  • Supports reviews of staff hours versus scheduled hours, determines appropriate disposition for variations, performs and approves daily payroll updates, reconciles time cards, tracks bonuses and coding approvals, and coordinates staff communications, including huddle agendas and meetings.
  • Determines staffing needs, assigns nursing shifts and overtime, recommends effective annual increases, and interviews staff for open positions. Conducts performance reviews, drafts and issues corrective actions or coaching, and follows up on disciplinary actions to ensure compliance.
  • Manages staff productivity and overall operational goals of the department as established by leadership, conducting evaluations and recommending improvement areas when necessary.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Nursing Diploma or Associate’s degree.
  • Experience:

    2–5 years.
  • Supervisor

    Experience:

    None.
  • License & Certification: RN.
Preferred Requirements
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience:

    5–10 years.
  • Supervisor

    Experience:

    None.
