- Advise and support the Board of Directors through regular reporting and strategic planning.
- Lead development of organizational goals, objectives, and initiatives.
- Ensure Board policies are implemented throughout the organization.
- Direct daily operations and organizational performance.
- Oversee budgeting, compliance, risk management, human resources, and administration.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and payer requirements.
- Ensure high-quality hospice care that meets the regulatory requirements set forth by the State of Illinois and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid
- Oversee quality improvement, patient satisfaction, and regulatory compliance.
- Support interdisciplinary care including nursing, social services, chaplaincy, volunteer, and bereavement programs.
- Provide executive oversight for the Heartlinks Grief Center.
- Partner with the Director of Heartlinks to establish strategic goals and measurable outcomes.
- Promote expansion of grief support services for children, families, schools, and community organizations.
- Support fundraising, donor engagement, grant development, and community partnerships benefiting Heartlinks.
- Serve as the primary ambassador for the organization.
- Foster relationships with healthcare providers, donors, schools, businesses, faith communities, and community leaders.
- Oversee community education, outreach, marketing, and development activities.
- Will potentially act within the Scope of their Professional License including occasionally making skilled Nursing Visits.
- Oversee Linus Blankets and related mission-driven community programs.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Board.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field required. Masters degree preferred. Minimum five years executive or senior leadership experience in hospice, healthcare, nonprofit management, or a related field. Illinois licensed Registered Nurse required.
Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
Strong leadership and financial management skills; knowledge of hospice regulations and Medicare requirements; experience with strategic planning and Board relations; excellent communication skills; ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and build community partnerships.
Professional office environment with regular travel throughout the service area. Occasional attendance at community, fundraising, and healthcare events. Primarily sedentary with occasional lifting and patient-care related activity when necessary.
