Overview
Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care, including pediatric emergency care at Children’s provides patients a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services, heart and vascular care, and is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care as well as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital.
The facility is also a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center and has been recognized as a Magnet®-recognized organization for nursing excellence since 2008. Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94‑bed all‑private suite hospital, offers emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services plus critical care. Perioperative Services provides care and support for surgical, gastroenterology, treatment, Cardiac Cath Lab, and pain center patients.
Schedule:
6:45 AM – 3:15 PM; 8 or 10 hour shifts. Call response time: 40 minutes.
Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.
Responsibilities- Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment and educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration.
- Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance and engages in professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patients, families, or caregivers, and ensures communication of the plan across the continuum of care.
- Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care and assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care.
- BJC has determined this is a safety‑sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.
