Registered Nurse; RN - OR - Operating Room

Position Overview

BJC Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for Operating Room assignment in Belleville, Illinois. The role requires ongoing staff employment.

Shift times: 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM, 8-hour or 10-hour shifts. 40‑minute call response time.

• Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation within nursing standards.
• Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment.
• Educates patients and families on illness or injury management, including post‑treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participates in patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance activities.
• Participates in professional development.
• Develops, implements and documents individual care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient/family or caregiver.
• Proactively plans and ensures communication of the care plan across the continuum of care.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural and population‑specific needs.
• Maintains a state of alertness and works safely as a safety‑sensitive position.

• Education:
  
  Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.

• Licensure/Certification:
  Registered Nurse (RN).

  Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Experience:
  
  Less than 2 years.
