Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Assistant Manager, ED - Emergency Department - $84K-128K per year

Position Summary

BJC Health Care is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Assistant Manager, Emergency Department (ED) for an ongoing staff role in Belleville, Illinois.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care, personnel management, equipment maintenance, and statistical accumulation.
  • Hire, train, assign work, manage and evaluate performance of staff, and conduct professional development plans.
  • Ensure productivity and actions of the group meet or support overall operational goals of the department.
  • Participate in departmental staffing, revenue and expense budget development and manage adherence to budget goals.
  • Provide and oversee patient care according to planned interventions, documenting as policy requires.
  • Create and implement collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis, and medical treatment.
  • Review staff hours, reconcile time cards, track bonuses, and approve daily payroll updates.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and execute all staff communications, prepare huddle agendas, and lead meetings.
  • Determine staffing needs, assign nursing assignments and overtime, and recommend effective annual increases.
  • Interview staff for open positions, evaluate and conduct performance reviews, draft corrective actions/coaching, and follow up on disciplinary actions.
  • Maintain staff productivity and overall operational goals, conduct performance evaluations, and recommend areas of improvement.
Minimum Requirements
  • Education:

    Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience:

    2-5 years Nursing experience, no supervisory experience required.
  • Licenses &

    Certifications:

    Registered Nurse (RN).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience:

    5-10 years Nursing experience, less than 2 years supervisory experience.
