Position Details:
- Schedule:
1 week on / 1 week off rotation days ~50% on-call during 'on' week (full-time pay during both weeks) - Clinical Responsiblities: assist in cardiothoracic surgeries, vein harvests, second assist open-heart procedures, manage inpatient and ER consults, perform pre-operative assessments and post-operative care, enter orders and manage inpatient treatment plans, daily rounding
- Position Highlights: 5-10 cardiac surgeries per week, high-impact, hands-on surgical role in a fast-paced OR environment
- Strongly Preferred: Saphenous vein harvesting, Cardiothoracic surgery exposure
- NP candidates must have RNFA certification

Preferred QualificationsRole Purpose
Performs an expanded perioperative role as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. RNFA works alongside the surgeon to provide direct patient care. Works as a professional colleague with the perioperative team and collaborates with the patient-designated support person, and other health care providers when making decision to plan care. Complete the didactic portion of the RNFA class, and 120 supervised clinical hours.
Enters a collaborative practice agreement with physician. When functioning in the NP role; assess, diagnose, prescribe, initiate plan of care and evaluate outcomes with the scope of their collaborative agreement. CNOR is encouraged but not required due to being an APRN.
