Overview
Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services plus critical and emergency care, including Children’s at Memorial for pediatric emergency care. It provides patients a full complement of diagnostic and treatment services as well as heart and vascular care. Memorial is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. It was also accredited as a designated Lung Cancer Screening Center and has held Magnet recognition for nursing excellence since 2008.
Memorial Hospital Shiloh is a 94‑bed, all‑private suite hospital recognized with Magnet status in 2018 that provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services plus critical care. The Emergency Department manages a broad spectrum of emergencies and critical adult, pediatric and burn patients are transferred to specialty hospitals in St. Louis, Missouri. Helicopter and advanced life support ambulances are utilized.
RolePurpose
Coordinates patient care, personnel management, maintenance of equipment, equipment purchased, and statistical accumulation.
Responsibilities- Manages individuals including but not limited to hires, training, assignment of work, performance evaluation, and professional development plans.
- Ensures productivity and actions of the group meet or support overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
- May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and has direct responsibility for adhering to those goals.
- Responds to changes in the business that may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
- Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions with regard to age and developmental needs to attain the patient’s optimal level of wellness and documents according to policy.
- Creates and ensures implementation of a collaborative plan of care based on assessment, diagnosis and medical treatment.
- Supports the review of staff hours worked vs scheduled hours and determines appropriate disposition if variation exists.
- Performs and approves daily payroll updates, reconciles time cards, manages bonus tracking and coding approval.
- Prepares, coordinates and executes all staff communications; prepares huddle agendas and leads meetings.
- Determines staffing needs, makes nursing assignments and assigns overtime.
- Recommends effective annual increases and interviews staff for open positions.
- Evaluates performance, drafts corrective actions or coaching, follows up on disciplinary actions to determine compliance.
- Conducts performance evaluations and makes recommendations on areas of improvement if needed.
- Responsible for staff productivity and overall operational goals as established by department leadership.
