American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.
Details- MS/Tele unit at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 222 total staffed beds and 31 beds on the unit
- Specialization in surgical patients following the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) program and order set/protocol
- Patient ratio of 1:5-6
- Day shift schedule, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM (3x12-hour shifts)
- Every other weekend required, with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
- On-call is required for this position
- Floating required to other MS/Tele floors as well as between two campus locations
- Charting via Epic; experience with Epic is required
- Block scheduling is not available
- Free parking on-site
- Active IL RN license required; pending IL license may be acceptable — note status when applying
- Active MO RN license required at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers must have at least 3 years of experience
- Experience with Epic EMR required
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply, provided they have at least 3 years of RN experience
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
- Completion of orientation modules is required prior to or at the start of the assignment
