Outpatient Registered Nurse - RN

Role Overview

The Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) CAP 1 provides clinically competent care for hemodialysis patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. They collaborate with the healthcare team, delegate tasks, and participate in decision-making, teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes.

• Perform patient data collection and adjust treatments accordingly.
• Educate patients and families about their care options.
• Administer medications and respond to emergencies.
• Ensure proper laboratory procedures and update care plans collaboratively.
• Serve as a resource, participate in staff training, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Supervise and oversee other care staff after meeting experience and training requirements.

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing School with current state licensure.
• CPR/BLS certified.
• Entry-level RN with less than 2 years of nephrology nursing experience; chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.
• Strong communication, assessment, and teamwork skills.

Involves patient lifting, prolonged standing, equipment handling, and exposure to infectious materials in a healthcare setting. Physical assistance and accommodations are available if needed.
