American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of high-risk telemetry experience and active IL RN licensure.
Details- Acute care Magnet hospital setting on a 40-bed Telemetry unit (222 total facility beds)
- Night shift schedule: 3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Required to work every other weekend, approximately 6 weekend shifts (Sat or Sun) within a 6-week schedule
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope to all inpatient units across both campuses
- EPIC charting system required
- Navy scrub color required
- Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong cardiac and high-risk telemetry background
- Required skills:
cardiac drip management (no titration), sheath removal, and central line management - Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management required
- Respiratory skills required, including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
- Provide high-risk telemetry nursing care including cardiac drip management, sheath pulls, and central line management
- Support pre/post cardiac surgery patients and manage dysrhythmias with prompt emergency response
- Perform wound care, wound vac management, and procedural sedation monitoring as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted only if residing within a 75-mile radius, which qualifies for a local rate
- No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment; maximum of 7 days RTO allowed for the contract, with additional days requiring manager approval
- Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period and must take a 3-month break in service afterward
