Beds: 12
Patient Population: stroke only, cardiac (cardiovert, pacemaker) no open hearthigh population of overdose
Patient Age Group:
Adults and Geriatrics Float required - possibly to MS/Tele, medical, surgical unit, intermediate care MS/Tele, Medical, Surgical 1:5-68 bed step-down unit (not open at all times)
Special Procedures/Unit Details: central line placement, bronch, peg tubeACLS, NIHSS, and BCLS Required
Skills Required:
Vents, IV Start, Telemetry2 years minimum experience required
Unit Accepts 1st time Travelers
* Will work holidays and weekends as needed

Acute MI, new onset dysrhythmia, hypertensive emergency, unstable angina with hemodynamic instability, status post cardiac arrest.
Pulmonary: acute respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation including NPPV (BIPAP), pulmonary embolus with hemodynamic instability, massive hemoptysis, new onset hypoxia.
Neurologic: acute stroke with altered mental status, coma, status epilepticus, acute change in mental status, neuromuscular disorders with neurological deterioration, administration of Tenecteplase (TNK), and acute care of post-thrombolytic treatment for stroke.
