American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring an active IL license and strong high-acuity cardiac telemetry background.

• Acute Care Magnet Hospital setting on a 40-bed Telemetry unit within a 222-bed facility
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (6:45 AM-7:15 PM)
• Patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities required
• Floating required within scope to all inpatient units at both campuses
• EPIC charting system used
• Navy scrub color required

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS and BLS
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with a strong cardiac background
• High-risk telemetry experience on a fast-paced unit required
• Experience with critical care cardiac drips required
• Experience with cardiac drip management, sheath pulls, and central line management required
• Skills required include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central line care
• Additional skills include respiratory care (BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, tracheostomy care), wound care/wound vac, and procedural sedation monitoring
• Experience with pre/post cardiac surgery patients and sheath removal required

• Provide high-acuity telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
• Manage cardiac drips, central lines, and perform sheath removals as part of daily responsibilities
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; local candidates are not accepted
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of assignment
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period, requiring a 3-month break in service afterward
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Clinicians with facial hair must be able to pass fit testing or be willing to shave for compliance
