The Nurse Extern will commit to a full-time (36 hour) schedule for 3 weeks (dates indicated above) . Hours vary and may include day and night shifts, weekends and holidays during the Externship. You will be expected to work the shifts that your preceptors(s) are scheduled. Orientation on Day 1 (December 21, 2026) is mandatory . PTO will not be allowed due to the short duration of the Winter program.

• Must be enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Graduation date of Spring 2027;
  Summer 2027; and Fall 2027
• Cumulative GPA of 2.8
• Valid CPR/BLS Certification throughout program participation dates
• Completion of application packet within deadline requirements (

The Float Pool is a team of Staff Nurses, LPNs, PCTs/ERTs, Unit Secretaries and Monitor Technicians who are flexible and versatile while supporting various areas within the hospital.

Provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of a RN. Assists with developing, implementing, and evaluating plan of care.

• Utilizes nursing process to plan, direct and provide safe nursing care working under the supervision of assigned mentor.
