American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN with 2+ years of high-risk cardiology experience to care for TAVR, cath, and post-CABG/VATS patients on 12-hour day shifts.
Details- Acute care Magnet hospital setting on a 40-bed telemetry unit
- High-risk cardiology patient population including TAVR, cath, post-CABG/VATS, and other high-acuity telemetry patients
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (6:45 AM-7:15 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call requirements
- Floating required within scope across all inpatient units at both campuses
- EPIC charting required
- Active IL RN license required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of experience in high-risk cardiology/telemetry nursing required
- Experience managing cardiac drips, sheath pulls, and central lines required
- Skills in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tube management, HFNC, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and procedural sedation monitoring
- Wound care/wound vac experience
- Provide cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and management of dysrhythmias for high-acuity telemetry patients
- Administer and manage cardiac drips (titration not required) and perform sheath removals
- Navy scrub color required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
- RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Standard travelers may work up to 18 months before requiring a 3-month break in service
