American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Telemetry position requiring high-risk telemetry experience and an active IL RN license in hand at time of submission.
Requirements- Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with strong cardiac background
- High-risk telemetry experience required
- Cardiac drip management, sheath pull, and central line management experience required
- Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central line care
- Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
- Experience with pre/post cardiac surgery care and wound care/wound vac preferred
- Acute care Magnet hospital setting on a 40-bed Telemetry unit within a 222-bed facility
- Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45-7:15)
- Patient ratios of 1:5-6
- Requires every other weekend work, approximately 6 weekend shifts within a 6 week schedule
- No on-call responsibilities
- Float required within scope to all inpatient units across both campuses
- EPIC charting system required
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Provide telemetry nursing care including cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response
- Manage cardiac drips (no titration) and administer procedural sedation monitoring
- Navy scrub color required
- No parking cost at facility
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Candidates must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
- RTO limited to no more than 7 days per contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
- Permanent employees of the health system must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
