Veterinarian

Metro-East Home Vet Care is seeking a fun-loving, talented veterinarian for our unique practice! We started out as a housecall-exclusive practice, and have grown into a full-service veterinary clinic. We were the first silver-certified Low Stress Handling veterinary clinic in the area, and our clinic is like no other. We do not use exam tables (although we could install lift tables if needed) and our practice feels just like home.

We even painted the walls in low stress colors, and play soothing music. We barely use our lobby, just our two very large exam rooms.

We sit on couches, chairs, even large ottomans. Big dogs we have mats on the floor. We get to know our clients and patients very well. We have 30 minute appointments, and do not see emergencies or walk-ins. We are open 9-5 M-F, no evenings, no weekends, and dear god no on-call shenanigans. We do not hospitalize overnight. We've only been taking limited new patients until we can add a doctor.

Our reputation in the community is very good, and people have waited a year to get into us.

We still make house calls (would be up to you, but the owner likes doing them). We have digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, decent ultrasound, cold laser, anesthesia monitoring... all the things. Two excellent CVT's on staff, and we are overstaffed for reception and assistants as well. All animal handling staff are Low-Stress Handling certified. We have an outdoor fenced area for extra nervous dogs, or just seeing appointments in nice weather.

Our practice uses Covetrus Pulse (possibly shopping for new software). We email and text a LOT.

Our clientele is fun, dedicated, love their pets, and we often can do the work-ups we need.

We have a specialist who comes and does our ortho stuff, but our routine surgeries have been one day a week. A veterinarian who loves surgery and dentistry is a plus!!! If it's not your jam, no worries.

We have good health insurance, decent dental, 401K with match, CE allowance, PTO, registrations and insurance nonsense covered. Full time is 4 days a week, but will take part time (2-3 days a week) as well. Single owner, non-corporate practice, where we are just a dysfunctional family.
