Position
Sales Assistant – Belleville, IL – Full Time (Reports to Sales Execution Coordinator)
Responsibilities- Maintain retail call frequency, following the structured selling process and selling supplier products.
- Provide value‑added services and resources to retail accounts; maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Build, restock, and rotate displays; place POCM and sell in additional shelf space.
- Plan promotion activities, follow-up on delivery issues, and deliver product when necessary.
- Resolve billing issues and complete required paperwork such as point sheets, expense reports, tracking forms, surveys, and work orders.
- Communicate monthly pricing information and proactively manage price gaps versus competition.
- Introduce and sell in new and existing brands and packages, supporting sell‑through as necessary.
- Establish and monitor quality‑control standards (product freshness, finished product loss).
- Communicate with all company departments as necessary.
- Participate in evening and weekend promotions as required.
- Make daily decisions regarding retail inventory levels using sales history, sales‑data tools (IRI and Mobility 360), competitive activity, and promotional events.
- Maintain all required information in Mobility Unit.
- Comply with Wholesaler Equity Agreement requirements, Grey Eagle and supplier standards, and policies.
- Adhere to all Federal, State and Local liquor regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma or GED required.
- Two years of sales experience, preferably in consumer product, beer or liquor.
- Highly self‑motivated, positive attitude, friendly and professional image.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent customer orientation with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to safely operate job‑related equipment.
- Ability to meet physical requirements: handling cases of beer, reaching above head height, climbing, bending, twisting, squatting, kneeling, and lifting up to 50+ pounds for packages and 165+ pounds for draught product.
- Regular and reliable attendance required.
- Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
- Technologically proficient; familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to pass pre‑employment background and drug screening.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions and duties as assigned.
