Diesel Mechanic

Performance Food Group is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to keep our distribution fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. In this on-site role, you'll inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and trailers, performing preventive maintenance, engine, brake, electrical, and hydraulic work. You'll use diagnostic tools, follow DOT and safety regulations, and maintain detailed service records. Working closely with drivers and operations teams, you'll help minimize downtime and support a safety-first, performance-driven culture with opportunities for training and advancement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and trailers in a wholesale food distribution fleet
• Perform preventive maintenance, engine work, brake, electrical, and hydraulic repairs
• Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and comply with safety and DOT regulations
• Collaborate with drivers, warehouse, and logistics teams to minimize vehicle downtime
• Respond to breakdowns and support on-call or after-hours repairs as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized shop environment
• Follow company safety-first policies and participate in ongoing training
