Job Description:
Classroom Teacher
The employee, Classroom Teacher, is responsible for instructional planning; management of behavior; delivery of instruction; and assessment of performance for all assigned students.
Performance ResponsibilitiesThe classroom teacher strives to maintain professional competence and continuous improvement through in-service activities and selected professional growth activities. The teacher cooperates with the administration and other staff members to identify and realize the needs of his/her pupils. The teacher performs assigned out-of-classroom activities during the school day and any other professional duties as directed by the superintendent of schools, building principal, or other administrative designee.
The teacher performs all assigned duties of this position, including but not limited to:
- Effectively addressing appropriate curriculum standards.
- Integrating key content elements and facilitating students' use of higher-level thinking skills in instruction.
- Demonstrating the ability to link present content with past and future learning experiences, other subject areas, and real world experiences and applications.
- Demonstrating accurate knowledge of the subject matter.
- Demonstrating skills relevant to the subject area taught.
- Basing instruction on goals that reflect high expectations and an understanding of the subject.
