RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, we offer advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state‑of‑the‑art campus expansion featuring a new four‑story 87,000 square‑foot building with a private, 32‑bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area and newly expanded Emergency Department.

The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.
QualificationsRequired:
- Graduate from an NLN accredited Nursing Program
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Strong critical care thinking and assessment skills
- Strong cardiac background/experience
Preferred:
- BSN
- Active NJ RN licensure
- BLS from the American Heart Association
- ACLS Certification
- Telemetry Certification/Certificate or pass of arrhythmia competency
- FT Days 37.5 hours per week
- Monday‑Friday no major holidays, no weekends
- Assists Director with gathering of statistical data in addition to participating with quality improvement initiatives specific to department
- Assesses participants pre, during and post exercise making appropriate referrals and/or recommendations to participant, other staff, Medical Director, Primary Physician/Cardiologist and other members of the interdisciplinary team
- Assists with the maintenance and proper function of different exercise equipment ensuring preventative maintenance is performed on applicable equipment
- Assists with the orientation of new participants, responsible for the initial assessment of the participant and assists with the development of the plan of care with other staff members
- Leads in the planning and execution of all educational materials/teachings for/to patient and family members
- Performs technical and non/technical tasks as needed to ensure a quality outcome is achieved on patients
- Reports any significant participant conditions (dysrhythmias, abnormal blood pressure responses, changes in participant's status etc) to the physician supervising the program immediately, as well as the participant's physician
- Initiates BLS/ACLS protocols and/or emergency care according to departmental/hospital policy and procedures if necessary
- Supervises exercise sessions, monitoring participants for inappropriate responses to exercise
- Responsible for vital signs on all participants pre, peak and post exercise and observing and assessing for abnormal responses
