About the Role

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Behavioral Health Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. The RN will provide comprehensive nursing care to the psychiatric patient population, ensuring compliance with state regulations, safety protocols, and evidence-based practices.

Qualifications
  • ASN or Nursing Diploma
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills

Preferred

  • BSN
  • Prior experience with the psychiatric population

Certifications and Licenses Required

  • Active NJ RN license or compact RN license with NJ endorsement
  • BLS from the American Heart Association
Scheduling Requirements
  • Night Shift, 37.5 hours
  • Full Time
  • Monday – Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation
  • Includes 3 weekday shifts and 2 weekend shifts per month
  • Must work 2 major holidays and 2 minor holidays per year
Essential Functions
  • Provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards.
  • Assures safety in practice and maintains evidence-based practice principles.
  • Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • Possesses knowledge of the patient population served.
  • Supervises and delegates tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other patient care providers.
  • Sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
  • Utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualizes the plan of care for each patient.
