Job Overview

RWJ Barnabas Health seeks a highly dedicated Director of Patient Care for our Post Intensive Care Unit- III (2

North) at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. The Director will assist the Patient Care Service Executive Council in defining, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating the philosophy and objectives for their designated areas to ensure optimal delivery of care and services to all patients in an environment that promotes professional development and continues to assure financial viability.

Qualifications
  • BSN required
  • 4 years of Medical/Surgical or Telemetry Supervisory experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
Preferred
  • MSN
Certifications and Licenses Required
  • BLS Certification
  • Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
Scheduling Requirements
  • Full Time
  • Day Shift
  • Monday-Friday (salaried position)
Essential Functions
  • Provide nursing care oversight in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assure awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
  • Assure safety in practice and embrace evidence-based practice by maintaining an awareness of own knowledge and experience and advancing knowledge of self and others, communicating with and utilizing resource persons and programs available.
  • Prevent and report identified safety issues such as hazardous environments and medical errors.
  • Have knowledge of the patient population served.
  • Supervise and direct delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborate with other patient care providers.
  • Set and evaluate priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
  • Serve as individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care.
  • Drive operational efficiency of the unit, including all quality outcomes.
  • Drive high performance in patient and family experiences by following the RWJBH system prescriptive plan.
