RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit at Clara Maass Medical Center in Belleville, NJ. With over 700 physicians and 2,100 employees, we offer advanced treatment for a wide variety of medical conditions. In 2017, the Medical Center completed a state-of-the‑art campus expansion featuring a new four‑story, 87,000‑square‑foot building with a private, 32‑bed Intensive Care Unit, new Main Entrance and Lobby, Retail Pharmacy, Patient Registration Area, and newly expanded Emergency Department.
QualificationsRequired:
- ASN or Nursing Diploma
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills
Preferred:
- Telemetry or Critical Care nursing experience
- CCRN
- BLS and ACLS Certification
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
- Day Shift – 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. – 25 hours per week
- Monday – Friday, every other weekend and rotating holidays
- The Registered Nurse provides nursing care within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards, and ensures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics.
- The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and integrates evidence‑based practice by maintaining a personal level of knowledge and experience, and by advancing knowledge of self and others in the patient care team through communication with and utilization of available resource persons and programs.
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (e.g., damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors.
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served.
- The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing delegation of tasks to appropriate team members, collaborating with other patient‑care providers.
- The Registered Nurse consistently sets and evaluates priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement.
- The Registered Nurse serves as an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team manager, utilizing the nursing process to integrate all aspects of care and individualize the plan of care to address a specific patient’s needs.
