Data Scientist

This position is part of the Air Force Elements, U.S. Transportation Command, Transportation Command. You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:

• Experience Providing data science support through statistics, multivariate statistical analysis, machine learning, artificial intelligence, operations research, computer analysis, data management, or data visualization with leading projects or programs.
• Experience using cybersecurity principles, secure software development / acquisition, data security, risk management processes (e.g., methods for assessing and mitigating risk) and specific operational impacts of cybersecurity lapses.

AND

• B. Degree;
  Mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

OR

• C. Combination of education and experience:
  Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience and

  Your resume must clearly show that you have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
