The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is seeking two Nurse Practitioners, one at the main campus and one at the Bellevue CBOC. The NP will provide a full range of services emphasizing quality, timeliness, and advancement of the VA mission by practicing to the full extent of their education, training, and certification.

Duties
  • Provide advanced clinical practice, consultation, and management to patients with acute and chronic health conditions.
  • Independently manage a patient panel, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention using evidence-based practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to achieve optimal population and disease management.
  • Demonstrate leadership and collaborate with the Primary Care Team and other interdisciplinary members.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
  • Prescribe pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic interventions.
  • Initiate referrals and consults to specialty services.
  • Provide education to patients and their families.
  • Asses and adjust plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

  • Follow supervisory controls as outlined in the facility organizational chart.
Qualifications & Mandatory Requirements
  • One full and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license from any U.S. state or territory.
  • Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) Certified Nurse Practitioner to practice in primary care, providing a full range of services.
  • Must hold mandatory mandatory mandatory mandatory Medicare .
  • Must hold mandatory mandatory mandatory experience
  • Prescriptive authority for a patient panel as required by the position.
  • Ability to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm (telework not available).
  • Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) subject to VHA policy and application.
