Salary and CompensationStarting Salary: $31,985.62 annually (Hiring Rate).
Immediate growth: 2.5% pay increase after completing probation, unless starting at or above the minimum permanent rate.
Annual cost‑of‑living adjustments applied on July1, subject to State Legislature approval.
This classification level is responsible for arranging, conducting, and maintaining documentation for drug screenings. Responsibilities may include collecting, disposing, and maintaining records of urine specimens; conducting drug screenings; maintaining the inventory of testing supplies and equipment; testifying in court; reporting and documenting testing results; ensuring documentation procedures are done in accordance with policies and procedures; and providing training on testing result documentation.
Job DutiesMinimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Prior substance abuse or chemical testing training and experience working with offender populations.
- Drug screening and chemical testing methodology.
- Safe work methods and procedures.
- Applicable testing equipment.
- Recordkeeping principles.
- Basic inventory management principles.
- Computer and related software applications.
- Performing drug screening and collecting samples.
- Maintaining specimen records and monitoring inventory.
- Maintaining operational records.
- Using a computer and communication skills to interact with coworkers, supervisors, the public, and others.
Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, odors, poor ventilation, hazardous materials, and challenging environmental conditions.
Light Work:
Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, or negligible force constantly.
