Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Field/Service Technician
Clean Harbors is seeking a Retail Technician to support our Waste Management Transportation & Logistics team. In this field-based role, you'll inspect, maintain, and perform minor repairs on waste and recycling collection equipment and containers at retail and commercial customer sites. You will assist drivers with safe loading and unloading, troubleshoot basic mechanical and hydraulic issues, and accurately document service activities using handheld systems.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, minor repairs, and adjustments on retail collection equipment, compactors, and containers used in waste and recycling operations
- Inspect vehicles and waste-handling equipment before and after routes; document defects and coordinate repairs with mechanics and dispatch
- Support drivers with safe loading, unloading, and staging of containers at customer sites, following DOT and company safety procedures
- Troubleshoot basic hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical issues in the field and escalate complex problems to maintenance teams
- Maintain accurate service, inspection, and parts usage records using handheld or onboard computer systems
- Communicate professionally with customers and internal teams to resolve equipment issues and schedule follow-up service
- Adhere to Clean Harbors' safety-first standards, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, and hazardous material handling protocols
- Assist with emergency response or special environmental projects as assigned by Transportation & Logistics leadership
