As an Educational Technician (Child Development) with the Air Force Civilian Service, you’ll help ensure safe, enriching, developmentally appropriate care for children from infancy through school age. Your work strengthens families, empowers staff, and keeps our CDCs running smoothly every day.
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is seeking a Full‑Time Child Development Center Operations Manager, GS‑1702‑06, to support the 55th Force Support Squadron – Offutt AFB, Bellevue, Nebraska.
The primary purpose of this position is to assist the Child Development Center Director with day‑to‑day operations across CDC1 and CDC
2. You’ll help manage staffing ratios, ensure a safe and healthy environment, support parent engagement, and oversee implementation of the USDA Food Program. Your work directly impacts the quality of care provided to military families.

Salary Range is $45,863 - $59,621 based on experience.

- U.S. Citizenship
- One year of experience as a Child Development Program Technician or equivalent
- Ability to obtain/maintain required background checks (IRC, SCHR)
- Ability to complete food handler, CPR, First Aid, and other required training
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and support emergency evacuation procedures
- Must be in good physical and mental health
- Irregular duty hours may be required
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles for infants through school‑age children
- Ability to interpret Air Force, DoD, MAJCOM, and accreditation requirements
- Strong communication skills—oral and written
- Ability to build effective working relationships
- Skill in planning, organizing, and meeting deadlines
- Ability to prepare briefings and compile quantitative and narrative reports
