Applications are being accepted for a 6.5 hour per day Special Education Resource Paraprofessional position at Fairview Elementary School. The special education paraprofessional works under the direction and supervision of a teacher or other designated member of the school staff. The special education paraprofessional helps special education students acquire skills and competencies taught by the classroom teacher.
Responsibilities- Supervise and work with students one on one and in small groups when needed, assisting the teacher in the classroom.
- Lifting, giving physical assistance and helping with tasks such as assisting in the lunchroom, toileting, transportation, and recreational activities in all areas of the building.
- Applicant must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of self or others, with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must be capable of regularly attending to the duties of the position for the duration of the assignment.
- Eligibility for veterans preference.
- Duty hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
