Applications are being accepted for a full-time Accounting Specialist in the Finance Department at the Welcome Center. This position has two primary responsibilities: processing approximately $20 million in accounts payable each year across several funds, and the post‑award financial management, administration, and reporting for district grants.
Duties include processing payables within specific software systems, becoming an expert in BPS budget structure and spending rules, maintaining both paper and electronic document retention for audit purposes, and maintaining vendor files. The employee is also expected to develop expertise in the necessary grant processes, and obtain a deep working knowledge of district, state, and federal policies that apply to the financial reporting and reimbursement of grant revenues.
