Job Description

Position Overview Spiral Solutions & Technologies, Inc. (SS&T) is seeking a Junior Military Operations Planner to support the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) Joint Exercises, Training, and Assessment Directorate (J7). The Junior Military Operations Planner supports USSTRATCOM/J7 assessment activities through research, analysis, and development of campaign, operations, risk, and Joint Force assessments. This position contributes to the evaluation of U.S. operations, activities, and investments;

supports assessment logic and database inputs; and assists in development of briefs, reports, and recommendations that inform senior leader decision-making in support of strategic deterrence and Command mission objectives. Security Clearance Requirements This position supports classified programs and requires access to classified systems and material. All contractor personnel must be United States citizens and possess a Top-Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information, Nuclear Command and Control/Extremely Sensitive Information, and Special Access Program access prior to commencing work.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
• Find, read, and comprehend diplomatic, informational, military, and economic information from multiple sources, including finished intelligence reports, diplomatic cables, and after-action reports.
• Maintain working knowledge of policy and strategy guidance including the National Security Strategy, Unified Command Plan, National Defense Strategy, Nuclear Posture Review, National Military Strategy, Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, Global Campaign Plans, Operations Plans, and Contingency Plans.
• Develop and refine measurement criteria including measures of effectiveness, measures of performance, and scoring standards.

Required Qualifications
• At least 7 years of practical Department of War military operations experience. In lieu of the 7-year experience requirement, at least 2 years of practical assessment experience assigned to USSTRATCOM/J7.
• A bachelor's degree or higher.
• Demonstrated relevant experience supporting: o Campaign, risk, operations, and Joint Force assessments, including researching and analyzing diplomatic, informational, military, and economic information; applying policy and strategy guidance o Developing and refining assessment criteria o Entering and maintaining logical, defensible assessments in databases o Identifying trends and synthesizing findings o Producing briefing materials and written reports o Participating in boards, bureaus, centers, cells, and working groups in support of USSTRATCOM/J7 assessment activities
• U.S. citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting Combatant Command, Joint Staff, Service, or MAJCOM assessment, planning, or operations functions.
• Experience developing briefing products, reports, or analytic outputs for senior leaders.
• Familiarity with Joint Publications, Joint Risk Analysis Methodology, deterrence theory, and strategic assessment processes.
• Analyze diplomatic, informational, military, and economic information to determine progression or regression toward achievement of Strategic Deterrence and campaign, contingency, or exercise objectives through defined measurement criteria.
• Enter logical and defendable assessments into databases and help define, document, and articulate the logic supporting assessments of objectives, effects, and risk.
• Develop, update, and maintain campaign, risk, operations, and Joint Force assessments.
• Identify trends in individual assessments and help synthesize information into findings, recommendations, and briefing products.
• Produce written reports and briefing materials in support of senior leader decision-making.
• Participate in boards, bureaus, centers, cells, and working groups and support administrative business processes, reports, document review, meeting minutes, briefings, and staffing packages.
• Identify, collect, analyze, and enter data in support of competition, planning in crisis, combat, risk, exercise, and other-directed assessments. Summary Benefits include:
