Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and compassionate Registered Dietitian to support our teams at Hillcrest Health and Rehab.

This role provides the opportunity to make a meaningful impact at the Hillcrest community supporting residents’ nutritional needs, partnering with interdisciplinary teams, and helping ensure high-quality care in skilled nursing, post-acute, and long-term care settings.

What You’ll Do

As a Registered Dietitian, you will assess residents’ nutritional needs and provide the documentation, education, and care planning support needed to meet state, federal, and Hillcrest standards.

You will:

Assess residents and develop individualized nutrition plans of care.

Ensure residents’ nutritional needs are met in alignment with care goals, physician orders, and regulatory requirements.

Review labs, MAR/TAR, weights, diet orders, and clinical changes to identify needed interventions.

Monitor and help prevent significant weight loss.

Complete required clinical documentation accurately and timely.

Complete Section K of the MDS and stay current with clinical documentation needs.

Attend NAR meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.

Provide nutrition education to residents, families, and team members as needed.

Develop and support nutritional in-services to help ensure appropriate dietary information is understood and followed.

Calculate, order, and monitor tube feeding needs.

Monitor residents who require assisted dining support.

Partner with Culinary Services leadership on menu recommendations and resident nutrition needs.

Demonstrate knowledge of state and federal regulations for skilled nursing, post-acute, and long-term care settings.

Build positive, professional relationships with residents, families, team members, and leadership.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a Registered Dietitian who is clinically strong, organized, and comfortable supporting multiple communities.

The right candidate will bring strong attention to detail, confidence with documentation, and a collaborative approach to working with nursing, culinary services, therapy, providers, residents, and families.

Ideal candidates will have:

At least two years of experience as a clinical dietitian in long-term care, post-acute care, skilled nursing, or a similar setting preferred.

Strong understanding of nutrition assessments, care planning, documentation, and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge of MDS documentation, Section K, weight monitoring, and nutrition-related interventions.

Experience with tube feeding calculations, monitoring, and follow-through.

Ability to partner effectively with culinary, nursing, clinical, and interdisciplinary teams.

Strong communication skills with residents, families, team members, and leadership.

Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

A calm, flexible, and professional approach in changing or stressful situations.

Comfort using technology and clinical resources efficiently and effectively.

Education & Credentials

Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or a related field required.

Active Registered Dietitian license in the state of Nebraska required.

Previous long-term care, post-acute care, or skilled nursing experience preferred.
