We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Data Scientist to join our team at Offutt Air Force Base (AFB), supporting the 55th Wing (55 WG). The Data Scientist will play a critical role in leveraging advanced data analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling to support Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) operations. This position requires expertise in data science methodologies, tools, and technologies to extract actionable insights from complex datasets and enhance mission effectiveness.

• Develop and implement data science solutions to support ISR operations and decision‑making processes.
• Determine, create and populate optimal data architectures, structures, and systems.
• Apply machine learning algorithms
  , statistical modeling
  , and predictive analytics to solve mission‑critical challenges.
• Design and maintain data pipelines
  , ensuring efficient collection, processing, and storage of structured and unstructured data.
• Identify and address data quality issues, ensuring accuracy and reliability of analytical outputs.
• Stay current with emerging data science technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
• Ensure compliance with all security protocols, classification guidelines, and organizational policies.

• Education / Experience:
  
  Minimum 16 years without a degree, 14 years with an Associate’s, 12 years with a Bachelor’s, 10 years with a Master’s, or 8 years with a PhD.
• Proficiency in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or D3.js.
• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including ETL processes and database management.
• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for producing reports and presenting findings.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required.

• Experience supporting the 55th Wing (55 WG) or similar ISR organizations.
• Knowledge of ISR operations and intelligence data sources.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with DOD 8140 compliance based on DCWF code 423 Advanced level.
• Certifications such as Certified Data Scientist (CDS), AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, or equivalent.
• Minimum 15 years of analysis experience relevant to this labor category, with at least some within the last 2 years.
• Master’s degree from an accredited institution, or a bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience for a total of 20 years as a substitute for the master’s, according to federal rules.

$135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, individual experience, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and geographic location. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
