Primary Responsibilities- Assist in machine set-up when required
- Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications
- Analyze and interpret blueprints, data, manuals, and other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, formulas, and measuring instruments required
- Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, installations, and work for conformance to specifications
- Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting issues on the shop floor
- Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions
- Record inspection or test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded
- Mark items with details such as grade and acceptance or rejection status
- Observe and monitor production operations and equipment to ensure conformance to specifications and make or order necessary process or assembly adjustments
- Read, interpret and understand blueprints and engineered drawings
- Measure, weigh, or count product and material
- Use hand and/or power tools; to include, but not limited to, grinders, sanders, banding tools
- Grade, classify, and sort materials according to company standards or specifications
- Fabricate, assemble or disassemble manufactured products
- Operate industrial and non‑destructive testing equipment
- Use precision gauges and measuring tools
- Attach tags or identify products and/or containers to be held or shipped
- Move materials or goods between work areas
- Load, unload, and stack containers, materials and other products
- Organize, plan, and prioritize work and work area
- Basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic desk top computer skills to include, but not limited to, Excel spreadsheets, Microsoft Word, and Outlook
- Ability to use, maintain, and read gauges, calipers, and other manufacturing measuring devices
- Background knowledge in ISO an asset
- Lifting and moving heavy parts required
- Able to stand, walk, bend and twist for at least eight hours per day
- Requires considerable visual attention to detail
- US Citizen or Green Card holder
- Environment consistent with a manufacturing plant with exposure to machines, moving parts, and noise
- Physical demands include standing for more than one hour at a time, occasionally lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 65 pounds, and climbing up and down from semi‑truck trailers
- Flexible schedule may be needed in order to meet project deadlines. This includes working alternate shifts, Saturday and/or Sunday if needed.
