Shift Type: Primarily night 12-hour shifts: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM (primary night schedule). Additional 12-hour options include 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM; shorter coverage windows seen on unit include 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM. Self-scheduled with every-other-weekend requirement; nights focus (12-hour) with some floating to Med/Surg/PCU.
Hours per Week: 48

Roles & Responsibilities Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to adult oncology and trauma PCU patients with situational awareness and clinical judgment
Administer and monitor chemotherapy and other complex drips safely and per protocol
Perform hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000) and respond to changes in patient status
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (PT/OT, case managers, social work, dietician) to coordinate patient-centered care
Provide hourly rounding, patient education, and emotional support to patients and families during critical moments
Document thoroughly in EPIC and maintain accurate medication and treatment records using Alaris IV pumps and unit equipment
Serve as a professional role model: follow unit policies (including fingernail/artificial nail policy) and contribute to a positive, team-oriented culture
Qualifications Active RN license (eligible to practice in Nebraska) required
Chemotherapy certification required (CHEMO CERT)
ACLS and BLS (AHA) required
ONS/ONCC certification required or highly desired
Minimum 2 years of RN experience (PCU, Med/Surg or Oncology experience preferred)
Experience with EPIC charting preferred (EPIC within 6 months is a plus)
Valid driver’s license required at time of submission (radius rule applies)
Comfort titrating drips (insulin, cardizem occasionally) and working with ventilated patients
Education Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or Diploma acceptable). BSN not required.
Knowledge & Skills Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record
Experience using Alaris IV pumps and infusion safety practices
Hands-on familiarity with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line, Swan, EV-1000)
Strong assessment skills for oncology and trauma PCU populations
Ability to work 12-hour shifts, prioritize tasks, and communicate clearly with team members
Compassionate bedside manner and strong teamwork skills
