Hospice On‑Call Nurse Responsibilities
  • Emergency Response:
    Provide skilled nursing interventions to manage symptoms, pain, and urgent needs during evening and overnight hours
  • Telephonic Support:
    Offer compassionate, knowledgeable guidance to families and caregivers over the phone
  • Care Coordination:
    Work with the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth, coordinated care transitions
  • Emotional Comfort:
    Provide emotional and psychological support during end‑of‑life moments
  • Medication Management:
    Administer medications and ensure adherence to hospice protocols
  • Documentation:
    Maintain detailed and timely records of patient care interactions
Qualifications
  • RN Licensure:
    Active Registered Nurse license in Minnesota
  • Hospice Expertise

    Required:

    Deep understanding of hospice principles, practices, and symptom management
  • Compassionate Nature:
    Empathy and dedication to supporting families and patients through the end‑of‑life journey
  • Critical Thinking:
    Ability to assess urgent situations and make confident clinical decisions
  • Strong Communication

    Skills:

    Clear, compassionate communication—both verbal and written
  • Availability:
    Flexibility and reliability for evening, overnight, and weekend on‑call responsibilities
