Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology

This is a crisis contract on a mixed PCU / Med‑Surg / Oncology unit providing care to adult oncology and trauma‑related patients. The position is 13 weeks long with night shifts of 12 hours for 3 days per week, starting ASAP.

• Schedule: Every other weekend, self‑scheduling
• Duration: 13 weeks

• BLS & ACLS (AHA) – Required
• ONS/ONCC (Chemo Certification) – Preferred
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; PCU/Oncology preferred
• First‑time travelers accepted
• Must pass orientation exam (90% required)

• 50‑mile radius rule applies
• Cannot have worked with Common Spirit/CHI/Dignity (perm/PRN) in last 12 months
• Driver’s License required at submission
• No artificial nails allowed

• Unit: 6 East (PCU / Med‑Surg / Oncology)
• Beds: 27–28
• Patient Population: Adults
• IV Pumps: Alaris
• EMR: EPIC
• Ratios: PCU 1:4;
  Med‑Surg 1:5 (Days), 1:5–6 (Nights)

• Provide care to oncology patients (chemo, cancer care) and trauma PCU patients
• Administer chemotherapy (if certified) and medications such as Heparin, Cardizem, Protonix
• Manage infusion drips including insulin and occasional Cardizem
• Perform IV starts and medication administration
• Conduct patient monitoring and assessments
• Support hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A‑line, Swan, EV‑1000, ICP) with training provided
• Collaborate with CNAs, PT/OT therapists, case managers, and social workers

• Team‑based, patient‑centered culture emphasizing diversity
• Additional support staff and lift equipment (Lyko lifts) available for safe patient handling

• Shift times: 7a–7p, 7p–7a, etc., nights 3 days per week
• Weekend requirement: every other weekend
• Floating to similar units (PCU/Med‑Surg) required
• Orientation: 2 days + pass/fail exam (90% required)
