Registered Nurse (RN) | Oncology
- Location: Omaha, NE
- Agency: United Health Care Staffing, Inc.
- Pay: $2,200 to $2,300 per week
- Shift: Nights – 3 days x 12 hours
- Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
- Start Date: ASAP
This is a crisis contract on a mixed PCU / Med‑Surg / Oncology unit providing care to adult oncology and trauma‑related patients. The position is 13 weeks long with night shifts of 12 hours for 3 days per week, starting ASAP.
Position Details- Title: Registered Nurse – Oncology
- Unit: mixed PCU / Med‑Surg / Oncology
- Pay: $2,200 to $2,300 per week
- Shift: 12‑hour nights (3 days per week)
- Schedule: Every other weekend, self‑scheduling
- Duration: 13 weeks
- BLS & ACLS (AHA) – Required
- ONS/ONCC (Chemo Certification) – Preferred
- Minimum 1 year RN experience; PCU/Oncology preferred
- First‑time travelers accepted
- Must pass orientation exam (90% required)
- 50‑mile radius rule applies
- Cannot have worked with Common Spirit/CHI/Dignity (perm/PRN) in last 12 months
- Driver’s License required at submission
- No artificial nails allowed
- Unit: 6 East (PCU / Med‑Surg / Oncology)
- Beds: 27–28
- Patient Population: Adults
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- EMR: EPIC
- Ratios: PCU 1:4;
Med‑Surg 1:5 (Days), 1:5–6 (Nights)
- Provide care to oncology patients (chemo, cancer care) and trauma PCU patients
- Administer chemotherapy (if certified) and medications such as Heparin, Cardizem, Protonix
- Manage infusion drips including insulin and occasional Cardizem
- Perform IV starts and medication administration
- Conduct patient monitoring and assessments
- Support hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A‑line, Swan, EV‑1000, ICP) with training provided
- Collaborate with CNAs, PT/OT therapists, case managers, and social workers
- Team‑based, patient‑centered culture emphasizing diversity
- Additional support staff and lift equipment (Lyko lifts) available for safe patient handling
- Shift times: 7a–7p, 7p–7a, etc., nights 3 days per week
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend
- Floating to similar units (PCU/Med‑Surg) required
- Orientation: 2 days + pass/fail exam (90% required)
